Collection Kites: Premier Kites' Biggest Show Kites
Collection kites are the large, eye-catching kites from Premier Kites that draw crowds at festivals and beaches. Many span 10 ft. or more, from 14 and 16 ft. deltas to the Mega Macaw, Giant Dragon, Pterodactyl, Rokkaku and Genki kites, plus designs by kite maker Willi Koch. Most are sewn from ripstop polyester with detailed multi-panel graphics.
How to Choose a Collection Kite
- Experience: Big kites pull hard. Choose one sized to your experience, and fly with gloves and a ground stake or anchor.
- Line: Large show kites need heavy line, and several ship without it. Check the recommended strength on each listing and pair it with line from our kite accessories.
- Wind: Each kite lists the wind it likes. Match it to the conditions at your usual beach or field.
- Display: Hang line laundry below a strong-pulling kite for a full sky display.
Collection Kite FAQ
Are collection kites for beginners?
The smaller ones, like the Crayon and Super Nova kites, suit families. The giants are best for flyers who already handle big single-line kites.
What is a Rokkaku kite?
A six-sided Japanese kite with a bowed frame. Rokkakus fly steadily, pull firmly and are popular for kite fighting and festival displays.
Do collection kites come with line?
Some do; many of the largest are sold without line, because the right strength depends on the wind you fly in. Each listing gives the recommended line.
